Chris Rentzel is a songwriter and composer whose work spans a lifetime of quiet observation, emotional honesty, and melodic storytelling. After years of moving between music, film, and photography, as of January 2026, Chris is now focusing on a legacy album—a collection of 11 songs (two of which will be new songs) drawn from across his life and carefully re-recorded in their most essential form. The goal is simple: to preserve the songs that mattered most. There will be a few new songs as well.

Many of these recordings are intentionally spare and intimate, centered around piano, voice, and subtle orchestral textures. Rather than chasing trends or volume, the music leans into stillness, clarity, and feeling. This album isn’t about reinvention—it’s about distillation: songs from a life, offered quietly, for whoever happens to listen.
